Introduction.

AbilityNet is a national charity that support people of all ages use computers through alternative and adaptive computer technologies. This includes people who experience difficulties while working on a computer workstation in their day-to-day lives.

AbilityNet's strength lies in the enormous and wide-ranging experience of its staff which informs a free, impartial and wide-ranging information and advice service, available to all.

We support people with any type of access difficulty from a bad back or whiplash to dyslexia and quadriplegia, and provide services to many professional bodies, employers and government departments. AbilityNet has a unique focus on access technologies, so we’re able to keep our expertise up-to-date with the latest technologies as they develop.

Through centres across the country, we provide a range of services on all aspects of computer use for those who experience difficulty, including individual assessment of technology needs and adapted computer equipment with full training.

We also offer practical training and consultancy on system and workstation adaptations.
