The Trackball
With a trackball the user rotates the ball which remains mounted in a stationary position. A trackball requires less arm movement and is therefore more appropriate for some users with disabilities. It also reduces the risk of repetitive strain injury. In operation and accuracy it is similar to a mouse and like a mouse there are many designs available.
