The Joystick
More commonly associated with gaming, the joystick is a popular pointing device among people with certain types of physical disability. The ability to grip the joystick is an advantage to a user with gross movement. Many leading power chair control units also allow the wheelchair joystick to double as a computer pointing device with the aid or an Infra Red receiver. Joysticks are easier to operate with body parts other then hands, such as the chin or mouth. Examples of these would include TetraMouse, the QuadJoy, the Jouse2 and the IntegraMouse. A high degree of accuracy is more difficult to achieve with a joystick.
